Vice President of Construction

Le Short began his career with Mason Construction in 1991 and is a fourth generation owner of the company. As a boy he worked summers as a mechanic's assistant and supporting material and equipment procurement in the Mason material yard and shop.

During high school and beyond, he continued to develop his understanding of the construction business. After studying Construction Management at Texas A&M University, Le returned to Mason Construction full time in 2001.

Starting at the bottom, Le served as a helper, carpenter, operator, surveyor and foreman under the guidance of a number of Mason's top supervisors. Gaining experience and expertise, he advanced to the positions of job superintendent, QA/QC inspector and project manager. From 2005 to 2008, Le managed a $12,000,0000 project while Mason served as chief civil contractor for BASF/Sabina Petrochemicals in Port Arthur, TX. The project involved peak manpower of 100 and included 200 individual projects within the 2.5-year span. Learning the business from all aspects has been instrumental in developing Le's close relationships with the craftsmen and management leaders of the company, its clients and fellow contractors.

Le's current duties include oversight of the construction process for Mason's various projects, quality control and business development and customer relations. Recently, he has been responsible for developing the Mason Construction Craft Assessment and Craft Training Program. His formal education includes Construction Management studies at Texas A&M, Master Certification in Construction Management from World of Concrete, and courses from the FMI Project Management Academy, as well as his course of study at Texas A&M University.

Le is proud to be heavily involved in his religious community and has been a volunteer and member of the Friendship Baptist Church for four years.
